After the monsoon season, when the swamp starts to dry out, is the time our families go out to collect min-pángérr (long neck turtle). My Pa Chalali (grandmother) would poke a stick into the ground to feel for the hard shell. When we heard the stick hit the shell we would then dig them up. Sometimes we would collect three or four in a day.
