Goanna is found in the sand ridges up home. Old people always collect them on the road when they drive between stations and from Normanton to Kowanyama. They live in big burrows in the sand ridge. The ones found in our homelands are big fellas. They dig up turtle eggs with their claws. Some of them can stand up tall. Our families would cook them up on the coals.
