‘My Country I’ is a bird’s eye view of my dad’s country, near Borroola, in the Northern Territory.
The four hills represent the four nests of the king brown snake, which is my family totem.
The river runs near these nests.
We visit this area during the holidays, and we fish there and catch barramundi.
The colours that I used in this painting are bright and sunny, because this is a scene
during the summertime and ‘wet season’, with blues, greens, orange and yellow.
