My Dad was born on the edge of Kabararrji, south of Bentinck Island. So he carries the name Kabararrjingathi, his Country – that's why he is called "Gabori", the English term use for the place name. There are lots of grasses there called malbaa, that the women used to gather to make woven grass bags called mijilda. While painting, my memories came back when my mother and father showed me and taught me about unique and powerful places on our land, and I felt happy and connected with them.
