Kassandra Savage 'Brolgas Dance'

Brolgas Dance - a courting dance - some times one dances for its mate, others dance in pairs or sometimes they dance as a group. The dance begins with a brolga picking up some grass and tossing it into the air. The brolga then catches it in it's bill. Then they outstretched wings it jumps a metre into the air. The dance continues with the brolga stretching its neck, bowing and strutting around, bobbing it's head up and down and once bonded, the synchronous calling initiated by the female. They are no mated for life.
