This painting is a shield design of the cassowary. It shows you the cassowary looking around just like you and me. It shows how the cassowary is looking in the rainforest, keeping an eye on it's area, or just walking around looking for nuts and berries. In the middle of this painting is what you find on a shield which is called a boch. To the Djabugay people the cassowary is the grandfather of the forest, because without him there be no tree.
