A tranquil bay where a small freshwater stream flows from the mountain into the ocean is the inspiration behind this artwork. For generations, this place has provided life and shelter — a calm refuge for fishermen escaping rough seas and a place where fresh water and bait fish are always available. It is also a cherished fishing place for our community, deeply connected to memories, tradition, and everyday life. While creating this work, I felt a strong connection to the mountain and bay, remembering the joy of fishing and the life giving water that has long sustained our people. Through this artwork, I honour these memories and take responsibility for preserving the stories, traditions, and spirit of our community for future generations.
