I draw inspiration from observing the Korrakorr (Brolga) grazing on the ancestral lands of my grandfather and great-grandmother, known as Kurtijar country. This experience fosters a profound connection, as these birds serve as a totemic symbol for my great-grandmother. Through my artistic endeavours centred on the Korrakorr, I establish a spiritual link to my grandfather and great-grandmother. With each artistic engagement involving the Korrakorr, I feel an enhancement of my understanding and a deepening of my bond with my ancestors and homeland. Additionally, while observing the Korrakorr, I acquired extensive knowledge regarding these birds- specifically their life cycles, dietary habits, and overall lifestyles.
