Water is life. It nourishes us, shapes our climate, and provides the oxygen we breathe. It connects our land, air, animals, plants, and culture. With every breath, every drop we drink, and every meal we eat, we are linked to the oceans, rivers, creeks, lakes, and billabongs. These waters hold over 65,000 years of memories. The current tides and waterways carry stories, and if we take a moment to pause, watch, and listen, we can hear the whispers of our Elders in the wind, reminding us to honour and protect this sacred teacher, the keeper of time through tides and moon. Water is at the heart of our cultural balance. If we harm our water, we harm the land, and in turn, we harm ourselves. Protecting water is protecting our culture.
