Wanda Gibson (Freshwater Fish Trap)
- Acrylic on Linen
- 101.6 x 76.2 x 3 cm
This painting embodies the saltwater fish traps crafted by my ancestors in creeks to catch fish. Through my art, I share the stories told to me by my elders about the creation of fish traps from sticks, rocks, and vines. Preserving our oral history is vital for ensuring these cherished traditions inspire future generations and are never forgotten.
