Lisa Michl Ko-manggén (Horn Shell Adornment Marrany)
in collaboration with Jahzara Michl and Yaromir Michl
Horn shells are small, hollow shells that can be found along the beaches of the central western coastline of Cape York Peninsula. The Kokoberrin people utilise these shells to create simple and delicate body ornaments that are worn across the body during Kokoberrin dances and ceremonies. These works are a collaboration of three talented Kokoberrin artists who are dedicated to preserving the traditional cultural body adornments of their Kokoberrin ancestry.
