Daniel O’Shane is Cairns based but has lived and worked in Bamaga for the past five years working with his uncle as a builder.  A relative newcomer to the art scene, he has a strong sense of design and confidence in his patterning drawn from his Torres Strait Island and Aboriginal heritage.  The unique fusion of both cultures is exciting and representative of a growing movement in in Far North Queensland. Daniel has won a number of major printmaking awards including the Mornington Peninsula Art Center Works on Paper Award, 2015 and the Peoples Choice Award, CIAF 2017
