Inspired by the lagoons of my traditional Binthi Warra Country, “Moonthaa Lagoons” celebrates a place that holds deep significance for my family. During the wet season, 
the lagoons come alive with beautiful pink and purple water lilies spreading across the water. Rich with life and memories, this place has long been connected to family gatherings, hunting for pigeon, and listening to the sounds of the bush. The black 
and white cockatoos represent our moieties and reflect our connection to family, culture, and Country.
While creating this artwork, I felt a strong connection to family and Country, remembering time spent at the lagoons and reflecting on the beauty, traditions, and sense of 
belonging Moonthaa brings to our lives. Through my art, I honour family stories and cultural knowledge, helping keep these memories and traditions alive for future generations.
