This bush food is known as yam, a food source that has been harvested for thousands of years. The tuber, unearthed from beneath the ground is rich in nutrients and can be cooked in a variety of ways, such as roasting, boiling, or even ground into flour. The yam has a unique flavour that is both earthy and slightly sweet. The vibrant green colours of the leaves contrast beautifully against the deep brown bark of trees, The cycle of growth and renewal continues year after year, reminding us of the resilience and beauty of nature.
Exhibited in 'The Summer Show' exhibition @ UMI Arts Gallery, November 2024 - February 2025.
