It’s a fantastic sight to see Plains Turkeys (Bustards) strolling across the landscape. I was a teenager when I first saw them, and my family knew them as the Bush Turkey. As an adult, I take great pride in spotting them and painting them for my children. Sadly, they have not had the privilege of eating the Bush Turkey like my brother and I did. These were treasured experiences and memories from our teenage years to young adulthood, courtesy of our Uncle John. Now, I treasure the photos I take of them and the way I represent them in my art.
