My great-grandmother Maude’s totem was the Korrakorr, so I feel a strong spiritual connection and inspiration to them. This artwork represents my three children and the special celebrations of their lives. For their birthday celebrations, they chose their favourite dish to be cooked for dinner. Significant birthdays were often celebrated with extended family in attendance and traditional feasting, including a kup mari (food cooked in the ground). We celebrated the graduation of two of my children from high school and university, marking their achievements and hardships. My husband and I have been blessed with our children, and we are proud of who they have become while looking forward to more celebrations ahead.
