DUNGAN, the infamous stinging – tree, is well respected and avoided because its leaves have the ability to inflict severe pain on a person who touches it. Its sting can linger on for months. The branches with the leaves were sometimes used as a punishment tool for indigenous lawbreakers and, at times, on non-indigenous for revenge during past colonial times.
Exhibited in 'Freshwater Saltwater' exhibition @ UMI Arts Gallery, July 2024 - September 2024.
