Normanton, my home, is the home also of the norgin (crocodiles). We find crocodile skulls on the banks of the surrounding rivers and creeks. We eat freshwater crocodiles but not saltwater crocodiles. Saltwater crocodiles can live over 70 years, and can grow up to 17 feet and weigh 1,000 pounds. All saltwater crocodiles have special glands in their tongue to get rid of excess salt, so we find them in saltwater habitats like the mangroves and estuaries, but they can also live in the freshwater rivers. Saltwater crocodiles can be aggressive. We give them respect and space.
