“Cooktown Sunset” captures the quiet beauty of the Endeavour River at sunset in Cooktown, where soft shades of orange and gold reflect across the water and small boats rest gently with the evening tide.
Pelicans gather along the shoreline, while tiny crabs move among the rocks below, bringing life to this peaceful and familiar place.
While creating this piece, I felt a deep sense of calm and connection, reflecting on quiet moments spent near the water and the simple beauty found in nature’s small details. Through my artwork, I honour memories, traditions, and the stories passed down through
generations, keeping these connections alive and sharing them with future generations.
