In the 70s, my parents were granted a new three-bedroom fibro house. My siblings and I counted down the days, eager for the moment we could finally call it home. We cherished our new home, grateful for its warmth and shelter. Maybe that's why painting houses brings me such joy. Now I live in the house built on the same block that my dad constructed with his own hands, with help from us kids. That's why it has been sacred to me for 73 years. I still live on the same block, which brings back many memories of my family.
