Wanda Gibson 'Fish Trap Among the Rocks'
Acrylic on Linen
101.6 cm x 76.2 cm x 3 cm
This fish trap is usually set up in a tidal river amongst the rocks.
My uncles and aunts used to put sticks across the stream, and the fish would get caught when the tide went out.
We all could collect the fish and share it with our family.
It made me happy and made me think about my father, a fisherman who made his own nets.
